Light Tackle Fishing in the Flamingo Evergaldes

We like to target Redfish, Tarpon, Snook and Tripletail on light tackle.  Other species that we may encounter in Everglades National Park are Black Drum, Seatrout, Shark, and Ladyfish. Another great option in the Everglades is, if the weather is warm, you can target tarpon year around.  There is no other place in the world that you can do that.  Come experience the some of the best light tackle fishing with top Everglades fishing guide, Capt. Armando Alejo

Redfish – These fish are found in many areas of the Everglades. We target them near structure and along the drop off’s of Florida Bay, along the Gulf Coast of the Glades, and deep in the backcountry. They range from about 3 lbs. to over 12 lbs., so our IRT and Cajun Rod combos will come in handy.

Tarpon – Tarpon can be caught year round, but the peak season is March through July. They can be found from the Gulf and seasonally deep in the Everglades backcountry. They range in size from 5 lbs. to over 150lbs., our IRT and Cajun Rod combos will come in handy yet again.

Snook – Snook are some of the most exciting fish to target on light tackle. We target them where moving water and structure meet.  These fish are anywhere from 3 lbs.-15 lbs., so again, our IRT and Cajun Rod combos will come in handy yet again.

Tripletail – The best eating and most fun to sight cast to.  Tripletail are a seasonal fish, May- September, and are a fierce fighting, very cool fish to catch.  They can be found from the Gulf and seasonally deep in the Everglades backcountry. They range in size from 5 lbs. to over 20 lbs., our IRT and Cajun Rod combos will come in handy yet again.
